My wife and I first met Dr. Prasert Theplaong socially, through friends, in
June 2002 whilst we were on holiday in Phuket.
He invited us around to his clinic and, during
the course of our visit, gave us a dental examination plus
a clean and polish.
My experience was that he asked me to sit
so he could take a picture of my mouth. I immediately thought,
”x-ray,” which, due to a horrible gag-reflex, I do not enjoy.
However, the “picture of my mouth” was just that. Via his
digital camera, my mouth was soon on his computer screen
and he was able to explain, and show me, exactly what needed
to be done. I was very impressed with that particular technique.
Prior to triple heart bypass surgery in March
2004, I had to have my four lower front teeth removed by
a local dentist and a partial denture made to replace them.
My professional and social life became miserable, as anyone
who has worn them and eaten, will understand.
As a Professional Entertainer, (guitarist
/ vocalist), singing became a nightmare, with my tongue trying
to form words and balance the denture. A very difficult manoeuver!
I contacted Prasert and he suggested either
implants, (a little out of my price range), or a bridge of
four artificial teeth, if the eyeteeth were stable enough
to support it.
I traveled to Phuket in June 2004 and stayed
for three weeks, attending the Phuket Dental Center approximately
every second day. I now happily wear that bridge, plus another
single bridge and five crowns, all on the lower jaw. All
the work is made from porcelain and the total cost, (including
return airfare), is about one quarter of the cost for the
same work done in Australia . Dr. Prasert Theplaong 's “chairside
manner” is exemplary, both calming and efficient. As a Dentist,
he is a true “Dental Artist.”
Both my wife and I shall return to Phuket
next year, where he has already planned work for my upper
jaw.
Please feel free to email me if you have
any inquiries.
